Stratford Beats Brookfield To Close Out Regular Season
The Red Devils also honored their seniors in an SWC showdown with Kolbe Cathedral last week.
STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford boys basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 62-46 victory over Brookfield in a road game on Tuesday night.
Stratford finished 15-5 overall and 10-3 in the South-West Conference.
The Red Devils qualified for the SWC playoffs and the state tournament. They entered the SWC playoffs as the third seed and faced Bethel at home on Friday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals.

Brady Knorr led Stratford with 20 points in the win over Brookfield. Jayquan Kirkland had 19 and Mike Olivencia added 11.
Shane Weber scored a game-high 27 points for Brookfield.

Kolbe Cathedral 57, Stratford 52: The Red Devils came up short in a hard-fought game against ninthranked Kolbe Cathedral in front of a sold-out crowd at Stratford High School for Senior Night.
The lead changed hands more than 10 times throughout the back-and-forth game.
Mike Olivencia led Stratford with 17 points, while Jayquan Kirkland had 16 and Brady Knorr added 12.
Najimi George had 21 points to lead the Cougars and Ty Staples-Santos had 17.
Stratford 53, New Milford 34: Jayquan Kirkland (20 points) and Mike Olivencia (15 points) combined for 35 points to lead the Stratford boys basketball team past New Milford last Tuesday night.
The Red Devils improved to 14-4 overall and 9-2 in the SWC with the win.
