Stratford Boxer, 10, Wins U.S.A. Boxing Junior Olympic Title
Stratford PAL boxer Joseph Chisholm was forced to move up a weight class, but still brought home a national championship title.

Stratford, CT — Stratford’s Joseph Chisholm may be small in stature, but he packs a big punch.
The 10-year-old from Stratford took on all comers at the USA Boxing Junior Olympics in Dallas, Texas, and won the national championship on June 30 in the 80-pound division.
“Joseph was originally supposed to compete at 75 pounds,” Martin Chisholm, Joseph’s father and head coach of the Stratford PAL boxing program said in a press release. “But he weighed in one pound over the limit. The rules were very strict so we had to move him up to the 80-pound limit or go home. I guess we made the right choice. His mom (Carmen) and I are very proud of him.”
