Stratford Boxers Claim Silver Gloves Titles

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford’s Jamillah and Sumayyah Chisholm claimed Silver Gloves titles in their divisions at the recent National Silver Gloves Championship in Missouri. They traveled to Independence, Missouri for the championships, which began on Feb. 1 with the final championship fights taking place on Feb. 3.

More than 500 boxers from ages 8 to 14 participated in the competition and this was the first year that females were allowed to compete. Jamillah and Sumayyah box out of MWC Academy representing the Chick Rosnick Boxing Club located at 360 Sniffens Lane in Stratford.
