Stratford Businesses Cited In Alcohol Compliance Checks: Police
Police said the businesses were found to have sold alcohol to an underage person during the compliance checks.
STRATFORD, CT — Seven Stratford businesses were found to be in violation of state liquor laws during recent unannounced compliance inspections, according to police.
The Stratford Police Department’s Narcotics, Vice and Intelligence Unit assisted State of Connecticut Liquor Control Agents on Sept. 9 with controlled underage purchases of liquor from permitted businesses within Stratford.
Police said 28 liquor permitted businesses were tested throughout the day using trained confidential underage sources.

Seven of those businesses sold to an underage confidential source, according to police.
Police said State of Connecticut Liquor Control Agents will be “taking enforcement actions against these seven businesses in the near future.”

“The town of Stratford is dedicated to promoting the health and wellness of our youth,” police wrote in a news release. “These compliance checks were supported in part by the Stratford Partnership for Youth and Families Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking (STOP) Grant.”
