The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Addressing our Town as 24th on the State's distressed municipalities list and lower residential taxes with honest budgeting and fresh ideas for economic development.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I bring new ideas and a wide range of experiences as a candidate. My campaign slogan "All in for the 8th" is a message to our district that I intend to work for all our residents, by hosting monthly meetings to air concerns, share ideas, and keep our district informed about local government issues. I will fight to be sure there is total transparency with the budget and all funding that flows in and out of the town.
Accomplishments:
I worked for years as an administrator, College Basketball Coach, business owner, union delegate, board member, and teacher. In each role, I gained experience on how to unite people, identify issues, find solutions, and work hard to accomplish common goals.
Other issues:
Our schools need to keep pace with modern technology, curriculum and be inclusive with programs. Musical, Gifted, Unified, and Athletics to name should be funded to enrich the lives of our children. Our district lines are a puzzle and frankly don’t make sense. After the 2020 Census, we can change the present gerrymandering, and structure the districts to best serve all our residents. I support the kind of non-partisan redistricting system that many cities, towns, and states have used to take politicians out of the process.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I love living in Stratford and care about our community. I believe we have wonderful resources with beaches, forests, and parks but the people make Stratford special. Each person needs to feel a part of our community, be heard, and know that their voice matters. "All in for the 8"
