The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Unity within and throughout our community. We need to encourage the potential of all community members and ensure constant and consistent communication.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I am running to volunteer for a job to create and be part of the solutions we have all been seeking. I am not someone who is seeking a position for political affiliation. I know intimately what is happening in our schools. I am whole heartedly invested in our students and schools. I am involved in daily activities, fundraising, event planning and helping to provide critical resources and opportunity to our staff and students.
Accomplishments:
Having attended Stratford Public Schools and now sending my own children to Stratford Public Schools, I believe that I am invested in making decisions as to what is best for the core of our schools – the students and teachers. I have been the secretary, treasurer and now, President of the school PTA. I completed the Parent SEE course, which helped me appreciate the energy and passion that parent leaders can bring to the table. I believe that my professional background and knowledge provides the ability to think critically and proactively, instead of reactively. I am a very active member of the school community. As a full time employee, mother of two young children, and PTA president, I have never hesitated to take on a task with my whole heart.
Other issues:
Unity, consistency, positive communication and equality.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I am passionate about Stratford Public Schools and all that they have to offer. I am excited about my commitment to all students, staff, teachers, administration. I am willing to create open lines of communication to establish a fulfilling environment for all involved. As a parent, the need to be accountable to my family is the same that I hope to bring to the Board of Education and Town of Stratford.
