Stratford Election: Theresa Sheehy Running For Board Of Education

STRATFORD, CT — The 2021 municipal election is heating up in Stratford with plenty of races on the ballot.

Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 2 and cast their ballots for the position of mayor, along with seats on the Town Council, Board of Education, Planning and Zoning and more.

Stratford Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Theresa Sheehy, 64, is running for a seat on the Stratford Board of Education as a Republican.

Occupation: Retired At This Time.

Family: Married 37 years to my husband Jay and have two boys in their 30’s.

The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Keeping our community from shore to forest working together, along with our Town Council and Mayor, on the concerns that affect all our residents, with children and without. This can be achieved through listening to ideas and communicating solutions through all means of media access.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I believe all the candidates seeking the positions on the Board of Education are truly motivated to help the students, teachers and parents give our children the best opportunity to achieve success. I have always been pro education and believe with the right programs, curriculum and resources we can make Stratford’s school system a role model to the rest of the State.
