Stratford Girl Scouts Host Cookie Booth on Saturday

Feel warm inside despite the cold weather: help girls and donate to soldiers by buying Girl Scout cookies this Saturday in Stratford

If you didn’t get a chance to order your Girl Scout Cookies in January or if you have already gone through your box of Thin Mints, don’t worry! Junior Girl Scouts from Stratford Troop #37470 will be selling cookies in Stratford at Wal-Mart and Shop Rite this Saturday—the first day of cookie booth sales!--to allow cookie lovers to stock up on their favorite treats before the cookie season ends. Our ”Super Troop,” embracing the theme of super heroes who can change the world, will be selling cookies at Wal-Mart, Stratford, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and at Shop Rite, Stratford, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

There are two new cookies available this year: Rah-Rah Raisin, a tasty oatmeal raisin cookie with Greek yogurt-flavored chunks, and our new gluten-free option, Toffee-tastic, a cookie with toffee bits.

The girls will also be selling cookies to donate to the Cookies for Heroes service project. Customers can purchase Girl Scout Cookies from a Girl Scout and have them delivered to our service men and women at home and overseas. For more information about Cookies for Heroes, visit www.cookiesforheroes.com.

There’s something amazing inside every box of Girl Scout Cookies – whether it’s the confidence a girl gains from asking people to support her, or how she gains life skills through learning how to manage people and money. By purchasing a box of cookies, supporters are helping girls learn Five Skills: goal setting, money management, business ethics, people skills, and decision making.

The proceeds from Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s cookie program stay in Connecticut and directly benefit all of the Girl Scouts in Connecticut, including the Girl Scout troop or group from which the cookies were purchased.
