Great Pumpkin Festival Details Announced In Stratford

The popular festival includes hay rides, a costume parade and contest, a pumpkin carving contest and more. Read details here.

STRATFORD, CT — The 2023 Great Pumpkin Festival will take place from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, the Town of Stratford and the Boothe Park Commission announced.

The popular festival, which is sponsored by Berchem Moses PC, will take place on Stratford’s historic Boothe Memorial Park at 5800 Main Street.

“Attendees can look forward to hay rides, face painting, a costume parade and contest, a pumpkin carving contest and a hands-on hula-hoop experience with ‘Bring the Hoopla,’” officials wrote in a news release. “The many historic and unique buildings on the Boothe Park property will be open to the public. A variety of civic organizations, together with the Boothe Park Commission, will be offering fall-themed treats.”

Cash and Venmo are accepted methods of payment, according to officials.

“Every year the festival invites the Stratford community, from babies to grandparents, to enjoy the wonderful fall season our region is blessed with,” Mayor Laura R. Hoydick said. “Boothe Park provides a storybook setting for the event, with its unexpected beauty and history. I hope to see our neighbors and new faces this year. See you there!”

Parking is available on the field adjacent to the Railway Society. Additional parking and shuttle buses are located at the Flood Middle School parking lot at 490 Chapel Street.

Pumpkin Carving Contest registration closes at 4 p.m. on Oct. 13.
