Stratford Home Health Aide Accused Of Stealing Checks From Client: PD

The suspect is accused of stealing from a Westport client, according to Westport police.

WESTPORT, CT — A 42-year-old Stratford woman, who police said was working as a home health aide, was arrested on a warrant Tuesday charging her with identity theft in connection with the theft of checks from a Westport client, authorities said.

Latonya Still was charged with two counts of second-degree identity theft, after Westport police said she stole two checks from the client, made them out to herself, and forged the client's signature. The checks, which totaled $750, were cashed in Bridgeport, according to police.

"When the complainant confronted Ms. Still, she purportedly admitted to forging
and cashing the checks," Westport police said in a statement. "However, when interviewed by the investigating detective, she denied the allegation."
