Stratford Library Features Abstract Exhibition

"Abstract Expressionist Benjamin Casiano” is the May art exhibit at the Stratford Library.  Original acrylics by Stratford artist Benjamin Casiano, who is making his second appearance at the library, will continue throughout the month.  The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Born and raised in New York City, Benjamin Casiano has been inspired by the masters since childhood. His work has gone from photorealism to cubism but it is the abstract expressionist movement that has made the most profound effect on where his prolific work is today.  Currently painting in acrylics on canvas, he minimizes the amount of color predominating the variation of form making his work largely confined to a periphery motif. Using mostly geometric form and gradients, his abstracts and figures take an effect with a loose brushstroke technique that creates a form of expressionism. Casiano is a BFA graduate from Pratt Institute and has exhibited previously at The Arte Gallery in New Haven and The Mayor’s Gallery in Stamford.

"Abstract Expressionist Benjamin Casiano” will be on display in the Main Lobby of the Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford through May 31.  For further information, call the Library at 203.385.4162
