Stratford Man, Bridgeport Police Officer Injured In Head-On Crash: PD
The Saturday night crash occurred on Barnum Avenue in Bridgeport.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A head-on collision between a vehicle driven by a Bridgeport police officer and a car driven by a Stratford man Saturday night resulted in injuries to both, according to Bridgeport authorities.
The crash between Officer Kevin Bettini and the 42-year-old Stratford man occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on Barnum Avenue in Bridgeport.
Bettini, who was able to radio into headquarters that he had been in a crash, was traveling eastbound, while the other driver was headed westbound.

The Stratford driver, whose identity was not released, was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry.
"The [Bridgeport] Fire Department extracted the operator of the Toyota Camry out of the vehicle," wrote Police Capt. Lonnie Blackwell, M.S., in a statement. "Officer Bettini and the operator of the Toyota Camry were both transported to Bridgeport Hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries."

Members of the Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Team are in the process of investigating the collision.
