Stratford Man Charged In String Of Westport Car Burglaries: PD
The man has been arrested in connection with multiple car burglaries, along with the theft of a vehicle, in Westport, according to police.
WESTPORT, CT — A Stratford man has been arrested in connection with multiple car burglaries in Westport late last year, according to police.
Westport police received multiple reports of vehicle burglaries, along with a report of a stolen car, during the early morning hours in the Compo Beach section of town.
Christopher Mulkern and another man were arrested by Stratford police on Dec. 2. They were found to be in the possession of an item that was stolen during one of the burglaries in Westport, according to police.

Investigators also found a cell phone that belonged to Mulkern and a search warrant was obtained, police said. Evidence on the phone linked Mulkern and the other man to the burglaries, according to police.
Police also said there was a video and pictures on the phone that linked the men to the theft of a vehicle that occurred in Westport on Oct. 6, 2020.

Mulkern was arrested Wednesday on a warrant and charged with five counts of third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, fifth-degree larceny and four counts of sixth-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
