Stratford Man Killed In Redding Crash: Police

Police have identified the motorist killed in a crash in Redding last week as a Stratford man.

STRATFORD, CT— Police have identified the driver killed in single-car crash in Redding last week as a Stratford man.

James Porter, 64, was killed after his vehicle struck a tree on a sharp curve in the roadway around 12:45 in the afternoon on Oct. 22. The accident occurred on Sport Hill Road, approximately one quarter of a mile north of Bridle Road.

Porter "may have had a medical issue, which may have been the cause or a contributing factor in the crash," according to Redding Police Chief Mark O’Donnell.

This case remains open as investigators are waiting for autopsy results from the Medical Examiner's Office, O'Donnell said.
