Stratford Man Killed In Weekend Route 8 Crash

SHELTON, CT — A Stratford man was killed after his car crashed into a guardrail and went down an embankment Saturday evening on Route 8.

Sean Oldroyd, 47, was driving his Jaguar X-type southbound in the left lane prior to exit 12 when the car suddenly veered across the center and right lanes, according to a State Police accident report. It then struck the guardrail, overturned and went down the embankment.

Oldroyd was pronounced dead at the scene.
