Stratford Rally Falls Short In Holiday Tournament Final
Trumbull held on to beat the Stratford boys basketball team in the Stratford Holiday Tournament championship game.
STRATFORD, CT — The Trumbull boys basketball team edged Stratford 59-56 to claim the Stratford Holiday Tournament title last Wednesday at Stratford High School.
The Red Devils (3-1) rallied in the last few minutes of the fourth quarter, but Trumbull held on for the victory.
Connor Johnston, who was named the tournament MVP, led Trumbull with 22 points.

Jayquan Kirkland led Stratford with 24 points, while Brady Knorr added 19.
Kirkland, Trumbull’s Ray Vincente and Morgans’ Cooper Galdeuzi were named to the all-tournament team.

Stratford defeated Morgan 68-52 in the opening game last Tuesday.
Kirkland and Knorr both recorded double-doubles to lead the Red Devils. Kirkland finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Knorr had 17 points and 15 rebounds. Jzhaun Davis added 19 points.
Galdeuzi led Morgan with 26 points, including four 3-pointers, while Drew Nye added 17 points.
The game between Trumbull and Barlow was canceled because Barlow had to withdraw from the tournament due to a COVID-19 quarantine.
