Stratford Resident Named GNAC Player Of The Week

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford’s Jayquan Kirkland, a junior on the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team, was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for his contributions on the court this past week.

Kirkland, a Stratford High School graduate, scored a career-high 33 points on 14-for-21 shooting with four rebounds in a close loss to Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Saturday.

On the year, Kirkland is averaging 16.6 points per game with 44/43/85 shooting splits. His 43 percent 3-point percentage is second best in the GNAC and 15th in the country for Division III.
