Stratford Resident Promoted at First Niagara Bank

Jorge Jimenez named new VP and Associate Relationship Manager for First Niagara's Business Banking Department.

First Niagara Financial Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: FNFG) has announced the appointment of Jorge Jimenez to Vice President and Associate Relationship Manager for its Business Banking Department. Jimenez will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of loans, deposits and other financial service solutions for businesses with annual revenues of $2 -$25 million.

Jimenez, who previously served as a Branch Manager for First Niagara’s Fair Haven location in New Haven, will be working with businesses in Southern Connecticut to provide them with First Niagara’s wide array of financial products, services and resources. He will maintain an office in New Haven and reports to David Cantor, First Vice President and New England Region Team Leader for First Niagara’s Business Banking Department.

“As a bank manager, Jorge was responsible for informing our retail customers about all of the financial services and opportunities available to them,” said Cantor. “He had an outstanding track record in that department, and we are confident he will be able to transition those skills into his new role with the Business Banking team.”

Prior to his tenure with First Niagara, Jimenez served in a similar management capacity at Citizens Bank, Bank of America and Washington Mutual.

“I look forward to creating strong relationships with area businesses that are looking for smart financial solutions to help their companies grow and develop,” said Jimenez. “First Niagara tailors financing packages to best meet the interests and objectives of individual businesses, something I am excited to continue in my new and expanded role.”

Jimenez earned a degree in Business Administration and Accounting at the University of New Haven and is fluent in Spanish. He routinely participates in First Niagara’s corporate volunteer programs, including financial literacy programs at local schools. Outside of work, he volunteers with the Connecticut divisions of the Ecuadorian and Mexican consulates. He currently resides in Stratford with his spouse.
