STRATFORD, CT — Stratford-based Athletic Brewing Company has released the country’s first non-alcoholic Oktoberfest brew, officials with the company said.

The popular non-alcoholic brewery is also hosting its third annual Sober Oktoberfest Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 2. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Athletic Brewing Company at 350 Long Beach Boulevard in Stratford.

“The first-of-its-kind family-friendly event complete with unlimited draft beer, food, games, and Live Music by Special Guest,” according to a news release. “Festival goers will enjoy delicious American southern-inspired cuisine by Walrus Alley, and a pop-up by local fan favorite, Rothbard.”

“Up until now, Oktoberfest beers for drinkers looking to keep their edge without compromising their social life have been missing,” Athletic Brewing co-founder John Walker said. “Our Oktoberfest should complement the fall seasonal beer category and allow a wider audience to take part in celebrations – even if this year’s Oktoberfest is in the comfort of our homes rather than at an outdoor tented party. Autumn is an exciting time for beer connoisseurs – and whether a person prefers alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages shouldn’t prevent them from enjoying the rich, complex flavors of an Oktoberfest beer.”

The new Oktoberfest brew will be available at the Sober Oktoberfest Celebration and can also be purchased online at athleticbrewing.com. It is also available at stores, which can be found here.
