Stratford’s Public High Schools Rank Among CT’s Top 110: Niche

Both Stratford and Bunnell rank among the top 110 public high schools in the state, according to the latest Niche rankings.

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford and Bunnell high schools both ranked in the top 100 for Niche's annual best Connecticut public high schools list.

Stratford High School ranked 105th. Its overall Niche grade was a B. It received a B- for academics and teachers, an A+ for diversity, a B for college prep and clubs and activities, and a C+ for administration.

Bunnell High School ranked 106th. Its overall Niche grade was a B. It received a B- for academics and clubs and activities, an A for diversity, a B for teachers and college prep, and a C for administration.

Niche said its rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.

Niche said its rankings were created to provide families with valuable information — both quantitative and qualitative — on schools in their area or in a neighborhood they’re not familiar with yet.

As in previous years, the Best Schools rankings include categories for boarding, charter and magnet schools as well as schools for STEM and the arts among many others.
