Stratford School Budget Proposal Cuts Teaching Positions

Superintendent of Schools Janet Robinson recently unveiled her spending plan for the 2021-22 school year.

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford Superintendent of Schools Janet Robinson recently presented a budget that calls for a $4.7 million increase, or 3.99 percent, over the current spending plan for the 2021-22 school year, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports the budget calls for 12 positions to be eliminated, including eight teaching positions at the elementary level, for a savings of around $1.66 million in salaries and benefits.

Robinson is hoping that the reduction in staff comes from attrition, according to the Post.
