Stratford Seizes Beachfront Home Over Unpaid Taxes: Report
The town acquired the property after a six-year legal battle over the owner's failure to pax taxes and sewage fees, according to a report.
STRATFORD, CT — The town recently acquired a dilapidated beachfront home in Lordship after a six-year legal battle over the owner’s failure to pax taxes and sewage fees, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports town officials are now weighing options, including whether to sell the home at 29 Shoreline Drive, which despite its condition has reportedly received considerable interest due to its waterfront location, to a private developer or demolish it and designate the property as open space.
Before the town can take any action, the Stratford Planning Commission needs to make a recommendation about the property’s future, and it has been requested by the Town Council to do so, according to the Post.
