Stratford Unemployment Rate Jumps to 9 Percent
Job numbers from June report that about 2,500 Stratford residents were unemployed last month.
Jobs figures for June show Stratford with its highest unemployment rate all year.
Out of a labor force of about 28,000 people, about 2,500 were unemployed in that month, according to the Connecticut Department of Labor.
That's a 9 percent unemployment rate for Stratford, the highest rate in 2012, matching a January jobs report. In May, the unemployment rate in town was 8.6 percent.
