Stratford Zoning Commission Denies Popeyes
The commission chairman, who voted in favor of the project, reportedly expects to see a revised application for the restaurant.

The Stratford Zoning Commission recently shot down a proposal to open a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant in the Dock Shopping Center by a 3-1 vote, according to the Stratford Star.
Rahman Hashimi, a franchise owner of four other Popeyes in the state, had applied to open the restaurant and it went before the zoning commission because it would be a new restaurant, according to the Star.
Despite the setback, Commission Chairman David Fuller, who voted in favor of the restaurant, told the Connecticut Post he expects to see Hashimi return to the commission soon with a slightly different application to address some of the questions.

The Popeyes restaurant was turned down at the July 28 meeting mostly due to concerns about the flow of traffic generated by a drive-through window, Fuller told the Post.
The fast-food restaurant would have seated 46 people in a 2,200-square-foot space and added about 60 jobs, according to the Star.
