Stratford's 2nd Annual Vicki Soto 5K to Honor Slain Sandy Hook Educator
The 5k will honor the memory of slain Sandy Hook Elementary teacher and Stratford resident, Victoria Lee Soto.

The 2nd Annual Vicki Soto 5K Run is being planned for Saturday, Nov. 1. Soto was one of the six educators killed in the school shootings of Dec. 14 in Sandy Hook that also took the lives of 20 young students. She was just 27-years-old when she died.
The race is a benefit for the Vicki Soto Memorial Fund, a charity set up to honor the slain educator’s love of teaching. The funds will be used to support students that wish to go into the field of education. The Vicki Soto Memorial Fund has awarded over $10,000 in educational scholarships.
The family-friendly walk/run will take place through the Lordship section of Stratford, Vicki’s home town. Race time is at 10 a.m. and there is no race-day registration. All runners/walkers must sign up in advance by clicking here. Awards will be given to top three finishers in each age group.
