STRATFORD, CT — Police are investigating multiple recent thefts from unlocked cars in Stratford.

Capt. Frank Eannotti confirmed the thefts, and said the incidents are not confined to one specific area of town. Police are following up on leads, but the investigation remained active as of Monday afternoon, according to Eannotti, who declined to comment further.

“(The) only thing I can say is that everyone need(s) to secure their property, at all times not just during spikes in criminal activity,” Eannotti said in an email. “The first line of defense is to deny criminals an opportunity to commit the crime.”
