Three Families Displaced in Stratford Apartment Fire During Snowstorm
Officials say 34 firefighters battled the blaze during the blizzard-like conditions: BREAKING

STRATFORD, CT — Three families were displaced in a structure fire that originated in a clothes dryer and extended through three apartments during Thursday’s snowstorm, according to fire officials.
The fire occurred at a building located at 164 Thompson Street with three similar apartments situated one above the other, according to Deputy Chief, Fire Marshal Brian Lampart.
“Fire crews arrived to find an active fire in the basement and working its way up through a common utility chase that penetrated into the bathroom on all three floors,” Lampart said in a press release. “Assistant Chief Alesevich commanded the scene with 34 firefighters during the blizzard-like conditions that included four Engine Companies, a Truck Company and Tac 5 from Stratford and an Engine Company from Milford. Bridgeport Fire assisted with station coverage during the course of the fire.”

The Stratford Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the exact cause of the fire, according to Lampart.
