Two Roads Hop Yard Reopens This Weekend — With New Rules

You can enjoy a cold beer at Stratford's local brewery this weekend, but be prepared for new safety protocols.

STRATFORD, CT — Two Roads Brewing Co. has announced plans to reopen its Hop Yard after months of closures due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Weather permitting, the Hop Yard, 1650 Stratford Ave., will be open Friday through Sunday, but will follow strict safety protocol.

"It’s no surprise that our operations will be looking quite different moving forward, so we please ask that you familiarize yourself with our new policies and guidelines before paying our Hop Yard a visit," the Stratford-based brewery said in a post on its website announcing the reopening. "Please note, the following guidelines have been put in place to maximize the safety of our customers and staff."

The Hop Yard will be open 4 to 9 p.m. Fridays, noon to 9 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. The reopening follows about two months of state-ordered restaurant closures. State rules for restaurants have since been relaxed to allow for outdoor-only dining at 50 percent capacity.

In compliance with federal, state and town regulations, the following policies will be in place at the Hop Yard:

  • Customers must wear masks when not seated at their table, adhere to 6-foot social distancing rules and sanitize their hands upon arriving and leaving the facility.
  • No more than five people will be allowed to a table.

The Hop Yard will be sanitized under CDC guidelines. Reservations are required and must be made for a minimum of two people and a maximum of five people. Due to limited capacity, customers are asked not to stay longer than 90 minutes. Cash will not be accepted. A food truck will be on site, but outside food will not be allowed. No children, infants or dogs.
