Upcoming Holiday Schedule Announced In Stratford

Officials announce the schedule for town buildings and trash collection for the upcoming Lincoln's Birthday and Presidents' Day holidays.

STRATFORD, CT — (From Town Hall): In consideration of the Lincoln's Birthday and President's Day holidays, all Town offices will be closed on Friday, Feb. 11 and Monday, Feb. 21. Those with business to transact with town offices should plan accordingly.

The Sanitation Division of Public Works WILL be working on Friday, Feb. 11 -Lincoln’s Birthday and Monday, Feb. 21 – President’s Day to provide uninterrupted collection of refuse and recycling. However, the Transfer Station on Watson Boulevard will be CLOSED on both days. The Transfer Station will be open on Saturday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 19 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Residents using refuse cans are advised that they must be the standard 32-gallon capacity container and that garbage contained in the larger 45-gallon capacity can WILL NOT be collected. Also, paint, oil or any other liquid should not be placed in your refuse cans.

Yard waste collection has ended for the year and will resume in April. During the winter months, residents may bring yard waste to the Transfer Station on Watson Boulevard.
