Route 15 Backs Up More Than 30 Miles After Stratford Accident
The incident occurred about 3 p.m. Friday.
STRATFORD, CT — An accident backed up traffic for miles Friday afternoon in Stratford, state officials reported. The two-vehicle incident was reported after 3 p.m. on northbound Route 15 in Stratford, about a half-mile before Exit 54, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
Northbound lanes were congested from Exit 29 to Exit 54 — more than 30 miles — after the accident, the department reported. The scene was cleared by 4:20 p.m., according to the department, but a second two-vehicle accident was reported between Exit 52 and Exit 53 around the same time. That incident was cleared about 5:30 p.m., the department reported.
