When an owner is an owner and a reporter needs a class in Journalism 101

The town held its first ever restaurant week during the St. Patrick's Day weekend.
A reporter, and I use that term with great trepidation, was sent out by the editor of the Stratford Star to interview restaurant owners regarding the event.
I am going to channel Sgt Joe Friday "the facts, nothing but the facts"  with the following comments.
Fact: At one point back in the dark ages when man was still writing on cave walls, Mike Vickerelli was the "owner" of the Shell Station restaurant.
Fact:The operation of the Shell Station was doing an HMS Titanic when Anthony Fidaleo stepped in and took over the operation and changed the name to the Station House Wine Bar and Grill.
Fact:Vickerelli was "kept on as a manager" who took orders from Fidaleo.
Fact: Up until about a month ago Vickerelli was still telling people he was the operator of the restaurant.
Fact: Fidaleo and Vickerelli recently had a sit down and Vickerelli was told he was no longer a manager but might be called upon on a part time basis.
Fact: According to several sources in the restaurant, there had been numerous complaints from staff and patrons concerning Vickerelli and some of his action.
For some reason, the people (all allegedly friends of Vickerelli) who think they are the powers of the restaurant community, especially in the downtown area gave the reporter Vickerelli's name for a interview on the operation of the restaurant.
The reporter, who apparently has no sense of checking, confirming, or back checking on a story when blindly into the breach much like the British lancers did during the charge of the Light Brigade.
Same results.
For the record: Fidaleo is the owner and operator of the Station House Wine Bar and Grill. He pays the bills, pays the rent, hires the staff and does the shopping.
There was a photo of Fidaleo with Ivana one of the bar staff that was at the top of the story.
Note to whoever took the picture.
The wanted poster look, staring straight into the camera, went out of form about the same time as the turn of the century.
It would have been a much better "photo op" if Fidaleo with Ivana was photographed holding and looking at a menu as Fidaleo "showed" Ivana what was going to be the next special.
Before the idiots come out from under the rocks of the primordial swamp that is fast becoming the town to comment on the blog.
Fact: I have a degree in journalism and public relations. I have worked as a reporter/photographer for the Bridgeport Post covering the fire/ems and U.S. Coast Guard beats.I was also the editor of the Huntington Herald, the sister paper to the Stratford Star until I was terminated. To aggressive I was told.
I still consult  for several agencies in New York city.
I do know a good news story from a "set up" bought and paid for article when I see one.
Fidaleo has two people who do his promotion work.
Educated, attractive young women who always play by the rules.
What Fidaleo needs is a Caucasian Ovchark type person with a bad attitude and a large bit to deal with the cabal that is trying to run this town behind the mayor's back
Only in Stratford.
Semper Fi!
