With a winter storm in the forecast, officials announce a parking ban that will be in effect in Stratford and more things to know.

From Stratford Mayor’s Office

STRATFORD, CT — A strong nor’easter / coastal storm is headed our way that will impact Stratford and much of the Northeast from Sunday into Monday, with snow arriving during the morning and afternoon hours Sunday and intensifying Sunday night.

In anticipation of inclement winter weather and to facilitate snow removal, a Parking Ban in Stratford will be in effect beginning 8 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22. Residents should park on the even-numbered side of the street. Our Police Department will ticket those not in compliance. The parking ban helps make sure our Department of Public Works can plow the over 800 public roads across our community and we appreciate everyone's cooperation.

Please ensure backup power sources are ready, medications and supplies are stocked, and any visiting care arrangements are confirmed in advance.

During periods of severe weather, emergency crews and 9-1-1 dispatch services may be delayed or limited due to call volume, road conditions and/or safety concerns. Taking a few simple precautions ahead of time will help ensure your safety and comfort if conditions worsen.
