Ads Made Out of State with Taxpayer Money for CT Gubernatorial Candidates
Foley, McKinney and Malloy all took some campaign business out of state.

Connecticut’s Republican gubernatorial candidates have spent a combined $1 million of taxpayer money on TV commercials made outside the state, according to CT News Junkie.
Tom Foley has paid $490,111 to Chatham Light Media LLC in Vermont and Pinpoint Media of Virginia, CT News reported, and John McKinney has paid $544,789 to Jamestown Associates of New Jersey. CT News cited State Election Enforcement Commission reports.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has also used a firm in Chicago — the same one President Barack Obama has used — for his campaign.

McKinney campaign spokeswoman Jodi Latina told CT News there is no law saying those funds must be used in Connecticut, and both McKinney’s and Foley’s campaign representatives said they chose the firms that best suited their needs.
