Celebrate Connecticut Trails Day with the Trees for Suffield Initiative, in partnership with the Suffield Parks and Recreation Department, during a special community “Picnic in the Park” at beautiful Sunrise Park.
This family-friendly event will highlight the park’s two Connecticut Notable Trees while celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary, Suffield style. Guests are invited to bring a lunch, blanket, and sense of adventure for an afternoon of outdoor fun, relaxation, and community connection.
The event will feature nature and tree-themed activities for children, families, and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. Participants can enjoy games, hands-on activities, and opportunities to learn more about the importance of trees, conservation, and local history.
To add to the fun, organizers will provide drinks, ice cream, and classic checkered tablecloths. Visitors may relax under the shade trees on the lawn or enjoy seating inside the pavilion while taking in the beauty of Sunrise Park.
“Picnic in the Park” offers a wonderful opportunity for the community to reconnect with nature and with one another while kicking off the summer season in Suffield.
Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.
