📰 News we're reading

• 11 Taken To Hospitals After School Bus Hits Building In Suffield (patch.com) — Suffield parents are being reassured after a small Regional School District 12 bus left South Grand Street and struck a building, sending ten students and the driver to area hospitals with reported minor injuries. Suffield police, fire, and the Volunteer Ambulance Association coordinated with mutual-aid crews and nearby hospitals, emphasizing the incident was not a mass-casualty event and that students were kept together whenever possible.

• Suffield Dad Of 2 Vanishes, Leaving Family With Mounting Bills, Unanswered Questions (dailyvoice.com) — A Suffield father of two, 52-year-old Manoj Bagga, has been missing since August 7, last seen on the Suffield Canal Path near the Route 190 bridge. His family is now facing serious financial strain, with a GoFundMe helping cover basic expenses while they continue searching. Suffield police are asking anyone with information to contact the department to assist the investigation.

• Suffield Police Department (thesuffieldobserver.com) — Suffield police are clarifying how automated license plate reader technology is used locally, stressing that the town does not deploy Flock cameras and instead relies on ALPR built into patrol car dash cameras. Data is stored securely with Axon, kept only 21 days, and audited regularly, with strict limits on access and clear penalties for misuse. Officers use alerts solely to find missing people, stolen vehicles, and wanted suspects.
