CONNECTICUT — With Championship Weekend looming, pairings have been made and neutral sites selected for the semifinal rounds of the CIAC state tournaments in girls volleyball, field hockey and boys and girls soccer.

A total of 19 teams from schools in Hartford and Tolland counties are still in contention for state championships. Of the 14 games involving teams from the region, five pit two area squads against each other.

Just two local teams earning final four berths won state titles last year. RHAM volleyball looks to repeat as Class M champion, while East Catholic, the 2022 Class S winner in girls soccer, has made the semifinals again, albeit this time in Class L.
