Arrests Expected In Suffield "Racing" Crash

The collision involving two vehicles resulted in downed power lines and closed a segment of a street for hours.

SUFFIELD, CT — An apparent case of "racing" between two vehicles on Taintor Street Tuesday resulted in a collision which knocked down utility poles and wires, preventing vehicle and pedestrian traffic until Wednesday morning, police said.

Capt. Christopher McKee said, "It appears that the youthful drivers had passengers in their cars in violation of new driver laws. Arrests are anticipated."

McKee advised parents and caregivers to obtain more information about teen driving laws by visiting https://www.ct.gov/teendriving/cwp/view.asp?Q=413528&A=3369.
