Benjamin 'Ben' R. Hartley, 91; A Member of the Greatest Generation Having Served in the Navy During World War II
Services, with military honors, are scheduled for Nov. 22

Benjamin ‘Ben’ R. Hartley of Suffield, husband of Mary (Galbraith) Hartley for more than 64 years, passed away on Nov. 5, 2014. He was 91.
Born in Springfield, MA on Nov. 13, 1922, son of the late Benjamin and Ester (Wheeler) Hartley and lived in Suffield most all his life.

Ben was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific. He was employed by Gerber Scientific in South Windsor, retiring in 1986. Ben and his wife Mary were members of The First Congregational Church in Suffield.
Ben is survived by his beloved wife Mary Hartley, several cousins: Ivy Heald of PA, Irene Jones of Pennsylvania, and John and his wife Irene Hartley of Enfield; and a close family friend Claire Genero of Suffield.

The funeral service will be at The Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Rd., West Suffield at 11a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, with military honors.
