Campus Achievements - Suffield College Students

SUFFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Hamilton College, Clinton NY

• Elle McCusker of West Suffield is studying in New York City for the spring 2019 semester. The program is structured so that students spend four days a week as interns in a firm or organization, attend weekly seminars on the semester's topic, and do an independent project. McCusker, a sophomore majoring in psychology, is a graduate of Suffield High School. She is interning with the philanthropic retail fashion company Olivela.

Quinnipiac University, Hamden CT

• Gabriele Grayson Preli of Suffield was named to the QU dean's list for the fall 2018 semester. Students who excel in scholarship by earning a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C are recognized by being placed on the dean’s list.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY

• Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Austin Rupp of Suffield has been recognized by the Liberty League for his efforts on the golf course last week. A sophomore, Rupp was named Performer of the Week after he finished sixth in a field of 105 at the adidas Intercollegiate in South Carolina. He had scores of 76 and a 1-under 71, including three birdies, on Monday with a 72 that included a 2-under front nine on Tuesday to finish with a +3, 219. He landed in a four-way tie for sixth place, just two shots from fourth and only three behind the three leaders. The Engineers were fourth in the 15-team tournament with a three-day total of 905 (+41). Rupp was also recognized that day as well as on September 4. He was the Liberty League Rookie of the Year, an All-Liberty League First Team honoree and a Golf Coaches Association of America All-Northeast Region selection in 2017-18.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Sarah E. Pyfrom-Stephens of Suffield graduated from Western New England University with a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership on February 15, 2019.
