Campus Notes - Suffield College Students

SUFFIELD, CT — Here are some recent accomplishments of college and university students from Suffield, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

• WILLIMANTIC, CT — Rebecca Ingraham of Eastern Connecticut State University helped christen the brand new Proscenium Theatre with an inaugural performance of " Cervante's Pedro, The Great Pretender." The historic occasion - the first major production of the Theatre Program to occur in that venue - took place within Eastern's new Fine Arts Instructional Center from Nov. 8 to 13. The classic play by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, a playwright of the Spanish Golden Age, follows the tricks of Pedro, a master pretender whose escapades involve him with a slew of characters and careers as he struggles to find his true vocation in life. Ingraham majors in Theatre with a concentration in Acting. In "Pedro," Ingraham played Hornachuelos.
• WILLIMANTIC, CT — Eastern Connecticut State University recently hosted its annual Scholarship Reception in the Fine Arts Instructional Center. The event brought together major ECSU Foundation scholarship donors and their respective student-recipients. This year students were awarded scholarships, totaling more than $600,000 in financial aid to students of all backgrounds and academic majors.
  Michele D'Agata of West Suffield was selected as the recipient of one of the prestigious scholarships. D'Agata's major is Sport & Leisure Management.
• NASHVILLE, TN — Victoria LaTeano, a Suffield native, qualified for the Fall 2016 Dean's List at Belmont University. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
