SUFFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Because of stellar fall 2017 seasons, nine student-athletes from the men's and women's soccer teams at Eastern Connecticut State University were named to all-conference teams for the Little East Conference (LEC). A total of 48 players across the eight-team conference were selected to first and second all-conference teams. Among them is Michele D'Agata of West Suffield, who majors in Sport & Leisure Management. D'Agata was named second team All-LEC for the first time in her career. D'Agata was a stalwart of the Warriors defensive unit, as the team gave up a conference-low 23 shots on goal for the season. She was one of only two players to start all 20 games of the season.

  • Anthony E. DeVita of West Suffield joins 30 fellow seniors who were recently named to "Who's Who at Western New England University." Students are chosen to receive the "Who's Who at Western New England University" award based upon their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities, and potential for continued success. DeVita is working toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
