Campus Notes - Suffield College Students

SUFFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• The first theatrical production of the fall 2018 semester at Eastern Connecticut State University was "Cabaret," the Tony Award-winning musical set on the eve of Nazi-controlled Germany. Among the cast and crew members who brought "Cabaret" to life was Rebecca Ingraham of Suffield, who majors in Theatre and worked on the set construction crew. With six performances between Oct. 18 and 28, theatregoers were dazzled by a stage set in the seedy Kit Kat Klub in early-1930s Germany, a time rife with political tensions that ultimately brought Adolf Hitler to power.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Daniel Cushing of West Suffield was welcomed into Western New England University's chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society on October 19 in Rivers Memorial Hall. Founded in 1924, Alpha Lambda Delta is a national honor society for first year students that encourages and recognizes superior academic achievement. Alpha Lambda Delta seeks to promote intelligent living, a continued high standard of learning, and encourages students to recognize and develop meaningful goals for their roles in society. Members pledge to use their education to benefit the community, the college, the nation, and the world. Acceptance is based on attaining a minimum grade point average of 3.50 in their first semester of study or a 3.50 cumulative average at the end of the first year. Cushing is working toward a BSBA in Business Analytics and Information Management.
