- Heidi Isbister of Suffield was welcomed into Sigma Tau Delta National Honor Society on May 4, at the Western New England University chapter's annual induction ceremony which took place in the University's D'Amour Library. Sigma Tau Delta is the international English honor society. Its central purpose is to confer distinction upon students of the English language and literature who exhibit high standards of academic excellence. The society also strives to promote interest in literature and the English language in surrounding communities and foster all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing. Isbister is majoring in English - Creative Writing.
- Benjamin Cushing of West Suffield was welcomed into Beta Alpha Psi National Honor Society on May 4, at the Western New England University chapter's annual induction ceremony. Cushing is majoring in Accounting and Finance. Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an international honor organization for accounting, finance, and information systems students attending universities accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Beta Alpha Psi encourages and recognizes scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field, promotes the study and practice of accounting, finance, and information systems, and provides opportunities for self-development, service, and association among members and practicing professionals. It strives to encourage a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. Currently, there are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi's formation.
