On Campus - Suffield College Students

SUFFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• This past August, two Eastern Connecticut State University students traveled to Daytona Beach, FL, for the 2018 Athlete Development Research Symposium (ADRS). They presented their research titled "The Effect of External Dissociation of Attention on the Duration of a Plank to Maximum Exhaustion, Performed by Male Collegiate Soccer Players." Michele D'Agata of West Suffield was one of the students who presented the research. D'Agata's major is Sport and Leisure Management.

Goodwin College, East Hartford CT

• Suffield resident Jessica Hansen has achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average at Goodwin College for the summer 2018 session, earning a spot on the elite President's List. The List is the highest academic honor roll at Goodwin College.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY

• RPIstudent-athlete Austin Rupp of Suffield has been chosen for a weekly award for golf by the Liberty League. At the Saratoga National Golf Club Invitational, Rupp finished fifth overall with a two-day score of 72-74 - 146, which was +2 on the par 72, 6744-yard course, to earn Liberty League Performer of the Week. He had four birdies in the first round, including three straight on holes 3, 4 and 5. On the second day, the industrial and management engineering major had eight pars and a birdie on the front nine before registering a 39 on the back.
