On Campus - Suffield College Students

SUFFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Lasell College, Newton MA

• Lasell College has announced that Kendall Allerton and Emily Dylewski, both of Suffield, have been named to the spring 2018 Dean's List. Students with this accomplishment are full-time degree candidates who completed 12 or more credits in the spring semester, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. This semester's Dean's List encompasses a total of 707 students from all class years, including 126 members of the school's first-year class.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY

• Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Austin Rupp of Suffield has been recognized by the Liberty League with a post-season award for his efforts on the golf course. An All-Liberty League First Team choice and the Rookie of the Year, Rupp (Suffield HS) finished first on the team in four events, including two overall victories. The three-time Liberty League Performer of the Week averaged 75 shots over 21 rounds. He shot a 70-72--142 (-2) to capture the Saratoga National Golf Club Invitational in October and later scored a 73-74--147 (+5) to tie for first in the New York University Spring Invitational. He earned the victory with a birdie on the first playoff hole. An industrial and management engineering major, Rupp was second overall at the Tim Brown Invitational in April with a 73-73--146 (+4) before finishing the season with a fourth place finish at the Liberty League Championship (76-73-81--230). Overall, he had scores in the 70s in 20 rounds, including a 70 and a 71. Rupp had seven top 10 finishes while helping the Engineers win one event and finish second six times.
