Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY

  • Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute student-athlete Austin Rupp of Suffield has been recognized by the Liberty League for his efforts in golf. Rupp, who was named All-Liberty League First Team, played all nine tournaments for the Engineers, averaging a team-best 75.57, which was +3.76 versus par. His best round was a -4, 68 at the Transylvania Fall Invitational in September and his top finish was fourth (+5, 149) at the Liberty League Fall Preview. Seventeen of Rupp's 21 rounds were in the 70s, including 11 under 75. He had six top 10 finishes. A three-time Performer of the Week this year, he was All-Liberty League First Team, the Liberty League Rookie of the Year and a GCAA All-Northeast Region honoree as a freshman

  • Sarah Pyfrom-Stephens of Suffield was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society of AACSB-accredited business schools, at a ceremony conducted by the Western New England Chapter officers. The banquet, held April 18, 2019, at the Log Cabin in Holyoke, was attended by over 100 students, guests, College of Business faculty and staff. Pyfrom-Stephens is majoring in Organizational Leadership.
  • Western New England University held the College of Arts and Sciences Senior Awards Ceremony on April 25 in the St. Germain Campus Center on the University Campus. Students receiving Academic Honors Awards are selected based on their academic achievement in the major or based on their overall class standing. Makenzie M. Ulitsch of West Suffield received the Honor Graduate in Law and Society Award. The award is presented at the discretion of the Director of the Program in Law and Society, in consultation with related faculty, to the graduating senior who has best exemplified excellence in and a commitment to the study of law and society. Ulitsch is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Society. Michael T. Urbanski of Suffield received the Allen E. Anderson Award. This award is present to the graduating senior who demonstrates academic excellence, potential for graduate study in Mathematics, and service to the field. Urbanski is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences.
