Death of Suffield Woman Deemed 'Not Suspicious or Criminal'
A 71-year-old woman died Friday after falling down a set of stairs in her home, police said.

SUFFIELD, CT — The death of a 71-year-old Suffield woman last Friday at her South Grand Street home has been deemed not suspicious or criminal in nature, according to police.
Olga Paganelli was reported to have fallen down the stairs around 1:49 p.m. Upon arrival, police officers rendered emergency medical care, as she was found to be unresponsive, Capt. Christopher McKee said.
She was transported by EMS to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead, McKee said.

"Acting on the side of caution at the time," McKee said, the Suffield Police Department requested the assistance of the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad, Central District to assist with the investigation and the comprehensive processing of the scene for evidence.
The cause of death has been ruled blunt impact injury by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

"While Suffield police investigators will be concluding investigative efforts to provide information as to what occurred leading to this fatal fall, this matter is not deemed suspicious or criminal in nature," McKee said.
