Donna Marie Cohen, 58; Interior Designer, Artist Who Lived in Suffield

A service will be held Tuesday evening, Nov. 25.

Donna Marie Cohen, 58, of Suffield, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at home surrounded by her family and friends after a quick and courageous battle with cancer.

She was the beloved wife of Bret Cohen and mother of Brianna Birtles and Tarah Cohen.

Donna was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on February 24, 1956, the daughter of Leonard DeTura, Sr. and Blanche DeTura. Besides her husband, Bret, and two daughters Brianna and Tarah, she leaves her grandson Roscoe, two brothers, Joseph DeTura and Leonard DeTura, Jr., her cherished nieces and nephews, Renee DeCormier, Melissa Creedon, Jessica Gardner, Derek DeTura Jeremy DeTura as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and
close friends.

Family and friends were Donna’s love and joy. She was a spirited artist, interior designer and aspiring writer who enjoyed listening to music, reading, being by the water and with her friends and family.

Recognized by her trademark red hair, lips and nails, Donna never read a book or saw a movie she didn’t love. She coveted her Godiva chocolates, Chanel No. 19 and vibrant colors, banned household use of words like “zit” and “armpit”, was a fierce defender of her loved ones, danced like no one was watching and loved having her feet rubbed. She was a kind, giving, beautiful person who loved to travel and to spend as much time as possible with her two daughters and puppy-grandson, Roscoe.

A service will be held Tuesday, November 25th from 5pm to 7pm at Figaro’s, 90 Elm Street, Enfield CT. The family will be there to greet relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Home & Health Community Services, 101 Phoenix Ave, Enfield CT 06082. Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels is caring for the arrangements.
