Edmund 'Mundy' B. Bielonko, 86; U.S. Army Veteran Who Served During Korean Conflict; Pratt and Whitney Retiree

Edmund ‘Mundy’ B. Bielonko, 86, husband of the late Helen (Kucharski) Bielonko, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in the home where he was born and lived for most of his life.
Born August 8, 1928 to the late Benjamin Bielonko and Caroline (Sliva) Bielonko, he was a lifelong resident of Suffield.

Edmund served in Germany with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge from the Army, he was employed by Pratt & Whitney for many years retiring as a supervisor. He also worked at Titeflex in Springfield, MA for many years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and playing cards. At one time he was a member of the Grey’s Club and was also an active member of AmVets.
He is survived by his five children, Michael E. Bielonko and his wife, Patricia of Berlin, Janice Wesche and her husband William of Suffield, David A. Bielonko of West Suffield, Edmund P. Bielonko of Suffield, and Maria Bielonko of Suffield; three sisters, his beloved twin, Caroline Kamay of Enfield, Marianne Petronella of Enfield, Patricia Filkowski of Agawam, MA; seven grandchildren, Richard Bielonko, Amanda Ferrina (Sean), Ryan Wesche (Kristin), Katie Bielonko, DJ Bielonko, Aaron Bielonko, Branden Bielonko, and many nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind his adored “little boy’’ Scottie.
He was predeceased by stepmother Anna R. Bielonko, a brother, John Bielonko, and two sisters, Genevieve Sroka and Helen Wezowicz.
The family would like to express their gratitude and deepest appreciation to Dr. Sabeena Arora, the staff on 5-1 at St. Francis Hospital, Kathy, Marie, Robin and Lisanne of Hospice, Hannah, and most especially Jen, for their great compassion, kindness, and excellent care.
Due to Edmund’s wishes all services are private.
