Cake Decorating Workshop

Adults and teens ages 16 and up are invited to join Rachel Shermer for a Cake Decorating Workshop on Saturday, February 26 at 10:30am. Shermer, a Vo-Ag graduate from Suffield High, will demonstrate how to make certain icings and hold a pastry bag.  She will also teach which tips and couplers to use to create swirl flowers, shells, stars, piping and lettering.  Each student will receive a Styrofoam dummy cake, pastry bag and accessories to practice their decorating techniques. Shermer will also demonstrate how to make 3-D flowers, and each student can apply their learned skill to a small cake as a final culinary creation.  All supplies will be provided through generous funding from the Friends of Kent Memorial Library.

Registration is limited and will begin on February 8.
